The Chitimba Bay Cichlid, native to the northern shores of Lake Malawi, is a stunning and sought-after addition to any aquarium. Renowned for its vibrant colors, this species often features shimmering blues, yellows, and contrasting dark vertical bars, making it a show-stopping fish for hobbyists. This cichlid is semi-aggressive and pairs well with other similarly tempered Lake Malawi cichlids, provided tankmates are of similar size and temperament.

Primarily omnivorous, the Chitimba Bay Cichlid thrives on a varied diet of high-quality cichlid pellets, flakes, and occasional live or frozen foods like brine shrimp or krill. Maintaining a proper balance of plant-based and protein-rich foods ensures vibrant coloration and overall health.

With stable water conditions (pH 7.8–8.6, temperature 76°F–82°F) and a well-designed aquarium, the Chitimba Bay Cichlid will flourish, bringing both beauty and activity to your aquatic setup.
