Description

The Pseudotropheus flavus, also known as the Dinghani, is a cichlid species that is native to Malawi. Beautiful, unique and very aggressive this fish is a true spectacle in most aquariums. Males only show color once they reach maturity around 3″ and even then they must be in the proper mood. Females remain brown. This fish is very similar in temper to an Elongatus Chewere. Other species of similar temperament are Red Zebra cichlids and Polit cichlids

Pseudotropheus flavus are opportunistic feeders and survive well on most commercial varieties of fish food. Since they are herbivores, we recommend feeding them our spirulina flakes.
