Ngara Flametail Peacock

Description

The Ngara Flametail peacock will not get too large, around 4”-5” inches. The perfect size for most cichlid aquariums.

Flametail peacocks are one of the more colorful of their genus from lake Malawi. The orange really pops in contrast to the metallic blue base of this fish.

The only issue with this fish is it can take a while to show off it’s full color. Males will start to show hints of color around the 3” inch size. But even at that point they can be temperamental with their coloration.

This peacock is fully adapted to life within the aquarium. It will readily accept most fish foods, here we like to feed them our Plankton Gold with the occasional treat of a frozen food like brine shrimp or blood worms.

Keeping these guys with more passive peacocks will help them achieve their full potential. Here we like to keep them with Sunshine Peacocks and
