This tanganyikan oddity needs a larger tank to reach its full size between 8-10 inches long. They can be a very rare gem indeed once they reach their full mature coloration. They grow fast and they are easy to keep. They are mostly plant eating but still omnivorous and will subsist on the regular flake and pellet diet of most cichlids. This species really enjoys a sandy substrate and will build nests for breeding.
